6 WEEK INTRO TO FITNESS FOR KIDS
Our kids class is meant to be BIG fun for all grade school aged kids (K-5th). Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for our children.
The needs of second graders and high-school varsity wrestlers differ by degree, not kind. This program is scalable for any age or experience level and accounts for the varied maturation status one can find in a class full of kids.
Classes are primarily game based, incorporating skill work and weighted movements that translate directly into what kids do every day in play – running, jumping, climbing, throwing, pushing, and pulling!
Kids classes are held in a group setting where we use functional movements that are constantly varied to develop well rounded athletes.
A typical class usually starts with a warm up, moves into skill work, a workout, and finishes with a game. Our primary goal is to equate fitness with fun, thereby placing fitness as a priority in life!
Our kids class emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance, and fewer sports injuries for kids.
Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means consistent adherence to a fitness program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement!
Classes will be 45 minutes long and meet on Sundays at 9:00am starting September 23rd, 2018. Cost is $79 per person (limit 8 spots)
All children should have a water bottle labeled with his or her name and come dressed in clothing appropriate for jumping, running, climbing, and being upside down.
You will be required to check your children into and out of class. There will always be someone on site that is Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certified. Your children’s safety is very important to us.
