Recursive’s Olympic Lifting Program!

Back by popular demand – and it is new and improved!

The two Olympic Lifts – the Clean and Jerk and the Snatch – are two of the most technical movements you will do anywhere. Both of those will take a loaded barbell from the ground to locked out overhead.

The mere practice of the Olympic lifts teaches an athlete how to apply large amounts of force to an external object. By lifting the bar from the ground to overhead, the entire body is used. As you begin the process of adding weights to the Olympic Lifts, the entire body compensates by getting bigger and stronger.

What muscles do the Olympic Lifts build? All of them. It is a simple matter of the length of the movement of the bar. In a bicep curl, the bar may move four inches. In a Clean and Jerk, the bar moves from the floor to overhead, upwards of seven and a half feet! Every muscle, tendon, and ligament in the body is used.

Once a week, spend an hour with a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sport Performance Coach working on Mobility, Technique, Power, and Strength for the Olympic Lifts.

Class limit of 8 athletes per session to ensure everyone gets plenty of personalized training.

Classes will be 60 minutes long each and will run for 6 weeks. Class will be offered at 2 different times each week, register for the day/time that works best for you. We will have a limit of 8 people in each time slot. You’ll attend the same class time each week.

You are welcomed and encouraged to take this class for more than 1 session. Your athletic abilities will change. Olympic Lifting takes years to perfect and is something you can and should continually work on.


Cost for the class is $199 for 6 weeks
Cost with a regular Monthly Membership is $99 for 6 weeks

Olympic Lifting Technique

Take that barbell from the ground to overhead the quickest way possible. Take some extra time to learn and really focus on the technique of the 2 Olympic Lifts – 4 weeks on the Snatch and 4 weeks on the Clean and Jerk. 


Week 1 – Getting under the bar into the squat from the power and hang positions
Week 2 – Start position
Week 3 – Putting it all together – taking video and breaking it all down in slow motion
Week 4 – See what you’ve learned – One Rep Max

Clean & Jerk:
Week 1 – Clean – start position, end position, full extension
Week 2 – Split Jerk – the transition from the clean, the dip, foot work, finish position
Week 3 – Putting it all together – taking video and breaking it all down in slow motion
Week 4 – See what you’ve learned – One Rep Max

Each class will start with a warm up and mobility to help get into the positions for the movements and you will get to put weight on the bar and practice movements and skills under load.

Classes are 1 hour long once a week and lead by a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sport Performance Coach.


Cost for Members is $80 for 8 weeks
Cost for Non-Members is $160 for 8 weeks
