Today, we re-open our gym doors after closing them on March 19th. As much as we are excited, we are also nervous. The safety of our staff, our members, and our own family is very important to us. We will do everything we can to ensure your safety while you are at the gym, and we ask that you return the favor and look out for us, our staff, and your fellow members.

We also ask for your patience and kindness as we navigate towards a new normal. Recursive has been built on community – high fives, group hugs, and partner workouts. We need to take a step back and re-assess how we continue to support and encourage one other, but also protect ourselves and each other. It will take some patience, time, and diligence to make sure we all do the best that we can.

Understand that among our staff and members, there are varying levels of comfort and preferred social distancing protocols. Let’s work to be respectful to everyone and make sure everyone is comfortable working out in the gym space. Err on the side of being overly cautious, and when in doubt, just ask!

Whether required or not, we will insist on some new standards to keep everyone safe.

  1. First and foremost, do not come to the gym if you start to feel sick or show any symptoms of disease.

  2. Class sizes will be smaller and capped at 8 athletes plus 1 Coach. People will be required to sign up for class ahead of time through ZenPlanner. No exceptions. If you are not registered for class, you will not be allowed to participate.

  3. No chalk will be used at this time due to the sharing of the chalk bucket. People may NOT bring their own chalk either – it is a perfect tool for trapping germs on the equipment.

  4. We will not have any Open Gym time because we can not monitor the equipment cleaning process.

  5. We will program to use a minimal amount of equipment and to avoid sharing any equipment. We will mark out spaces on the floor for each person.

  6. People will only be allowed to show up 5 minutes before class and must leave right after class to avoid cross over traffic in the gym.

  7. We are working on the summer class schedule now. Classes will still be 60 minutes long. We will have to spread out our class times to accommodate traffic and cleaning between classes.

  8. Athletes will be required to wash/sanitize hands before and after classes.

  9. Athletes will be required to wipe down all equipment after use using the cleaning supplies provided.

  10. People will be required to bring their own filled water bottle. No disposable water cups will be available. The water fountains will not be available for use at this time.

  11. Substitute high fives for elbow bumps, air fives, or moon landing (booty bumps).

  12. The gym will be closed on Sunday for a weekly deep cleaning.

  13. We will not be accepting Drop Ins/Visitors at this time.

Again, the safety of everyone in the gym (staff and members) is our highest priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
